The Gamma SL Hoody by Arc’teryx is a featherweight yet robust midlayer that comes in handy all year round, whether you’re out in the wilderness, on the city streets or alternating between the two.

In colder climes, it adds an extra degree of protection underneath your top layer. In the fairer months of the year, it functions perfectly well as a standalone jacket.

Coming from Arc’teryx’s Gamma range, this jacket is all about weather-resistance with added comfort – made from a four-way stretch material that boasts breathability, wind-resistance and water-resistance. In other words, moisture will escape and thereby help to regulate your temperature, but the elements will have a hard time getting in. Not only that, but the Fortius 1.0 double weave means that it’s abrasion-resistant too.

The ‘SL’ in the name stands for ‘superlight’, which means it’s designed to be as lightweight as possible, and easily packable. It’s something you can keep in your bag just on the off-chance that you need it, taking up minimal space and not adding any noticeable weight.
